Provenance Growers

A market garden and edible plant nursery in lutruwita / Tasmania providing produce, edible plants and preserves to home cooks, chefs and gardeners.

We recognise indigenous sovereignty, and that we work on land that was never ceded. We acknowledge the Traditional Owners and pay our respects to Elders past and present.

The health of the planet, communities and human health is at the heart of our work, so we grow using organic and regenerative principles, with no herbicides or pesticides, we run our nursery with only salvaged plastic pots and work with customers to use returnable or compostable packaging.

We seek out the most delicious varieties of edible plants that are suited to growing in the Tasmanian climate and are working on ways to give proper cultural acknowledgement to the stewards of the plants we so love.

Our produce and preserves are available at our Salamanca Market stall, site 204, in the middle aisle of stalls, 8.30 to 3pm every Saturday. We also have a self-serve roadside stall on our farm at Neika, please get in touch for details.

In the foothills of kunanyi/Mt Wellington

It is cold here in winter at 300m asl, but in summer it can be hot and dry. We feel that working within these challenges makes for more flavoursome food - icy winds encourage plants to develop strong cell walls, giving food texture, and sugars in their tissues to protect themselves against freezing, making more flavour for us. The heat and dry of summer concentrates flavours making for rich, full-flavoured produce. Plants grown exposed to the vagaries of our windy mountainside will thrive once planted out in your garden.
